Basic entrance requirements, our location and driving directions are listed below for the Electrician Inside Wireman, Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship Program, Telecommunications Trainee Program, Residential Electrician Apprenticeship and Construction Wireman Trainee Program. Electrician Inside Wireman/Maintenance Technician/Residential Electrician Apprenticeship Programs

Please be advised: THE J.A.T.C. WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS DURING AN ACTIVE NYSDOL RECRUITMENT PERIOD. Call the Office @ (631) 434-3939 ext. 2 to hear information about future recruitments.

Applications for our Electrician Inside Wireman, Maintenance Technician and Residential apprenticeship programs will then be available, on designated days, between the hours of 10:00 A.M. – 12 Noon

YOU MUST APPLY IN PERSON AND BRING THESE DOCUMENTS WITH YOU:

1. Your High School Diploma or GED
2. Your High School Transcript – To prove algebra requirement
3. Proof of Residency – Applicant must have been a Resident of Nassau/Suffolk Counties at least 12 months prior to the date of application.
4. Any other Transcripts (college, special schools, etc) or Certificates of Completion for courses taken after High School.

Basic Entrance Requirements

1. Applicant must be a graduate of an approved High School or hold a New York State-approved High School Equivalency Diploma.
2. Applicant must have taken and passed the following mathematics courses: Elementary Algebra, Seq. Math 1, Math 1 or Freshman High School Regents Math.
3. Applicant must have been a Resident of Nassau/Suffolk Counties at least 12 months prior to the date of application.
4. Applicant must be at least seventeen (17) years of age at the time of application. 
5. Applicant must pass the NJATC/AIR Aptitude test, which is administered by the J.A.T.C.
6. The applicant must have a personal interview with the J.A.T.C.
7. Before final acceptance, each applicant will be required to submit and pass a Substance Abuse Test and may be required to pass a physical exam paid for by the J.A.T.C.
8. Accepted applicants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

Driving Directions: Take Exit 55 off of the Long Island Expressway, then go west on Motor Parkway approximately 1 mile. Parking is on the left side of building and visitors enter through the single glass door.

Construction Wireman Program

Please be advised that the J.A.T.C. will be accepting applications for this program Monday thru Friday between the hours of 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

YOU MUST APPLY IN PERSON

Basic Entrance Requirements

1. Applicant must be at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of application.
2. Proof of Residency – Applicant must have been a Resident of Nassau/Suffolk Counties at least 12 months prior to the date of application.
3. Some knowledge of the Electrical Industry is useful, but not required.
4. You should have suitable transportation to report to job sites.
5. You should own your own hand tools; power tools will be supplied by the Contractor.
6. Each applicant may be required to submit and pass a Substance Abuse Test.
